ZF India Secures Major OEM Deal to Supply 9-Speed Truck Transmissions.

ZF India recently announced a significant strategic partnership with a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, solidifying its position as a key supplier in the Indian automotive market. Under this collaboration, ZF India will supply its advanced manual and Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) 9-speed transmissions for the OEM's trucks in the 1300 Nm torque segment.

The agreement specifically includes the provision of ZF's EcoMid and EcoTronic Mid transmissions. These systems have been purpose-built to cater to over 25-ton truck applications, promising to deliver enhanced efficiency, superior performance, and robust reliability for commercial vehicles operating in demanding conditions.

Production of these state-of-the-art transmissions is currently underway at ZF's manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. This localized production not only reinforces ZF India's commitment to the "Make in India" initiative but also underscores a notable market trend: the increasing shift towards higher engine torque in commercial vehicles manufactured in India. This move by ZF India is expected to support the growth and technological advancement of the country's heavy-duty trucking sector.
