China to provide medical equipments for Jamhuriat Hospital
Kabul: The minister of public health and the Chinese ambassador in Kabul have signed an agreement on provision of medical equipment for the newly-built Jamhuriat Hospital by the government of China.
The equipment includes 248 items which are sufficient for running a hospital for provision of tertiary health care. The new building of the hospital, costing $20 million, has been constructed with financial support from China.
Dr. SM Amin Fatimie, who signed the agreement with Yang Houlan here on Saturday, said provision of medical equipment worth $2.5 million by the government of China was an important step in the strengthening the health system of Afghanistan. By equipping and activating the Jamhuriat Hospital not only the residents of Kabul are benefiting from Tertiary Health Care but also patients referred from the provinces with complicated health problems will be treated said added Fatimie.
