Foundation laid for commercial complex.

Urban Affairs Minister Manjalamkuzhi Ali recently laid the foundation stone for a commercial complex at Chala that will come up under the aegis of the Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority (TRIDA) on a 5.5-acre site alongside the Killippalam-Attakulangara Bypass.

According to TRIDA officials, the State government has given administrative sanction for Rs.15 crore for the 2,500 square metre complex.

The master plan envisages a Rs.100-crore project that will include the commercial complex, an auditorium that can seat 3,000 persons, a parking plaza, a rehabilitation building, and proper roads. TRIDA is making efforts to acquire an additional two acres of land for the project.

Work on the first block of the commercial complex will commence shortly.

The complex is expected to be completed in one year.
