IBM signs agreement with Idea Cellular

Bangalore: International Business Machines (IBM) has signed a seven-year contract with Idea Cellular to provide a service delivery platform (SDP) that will enable Idea to deliver innovative messaging and WAP-based content services to over 50 million subscribers over 2G and 3G wireless networks in the country.

IBM's SDP will help Idea integrate content and applications across all of its service lines.

This seven-year contract will deliver services such as IT systems, software and service for value-added revenue services, such as content management, downloading, portal browsing and subscription services, and integration with business support system.
