Japan aid for Bangladesh National Museum
Dhaka: Japan will provide Bangladesh with ¥62.3m (about Tk 3.88 crore) in grant aid for the audiovisual equipment improvement project of the Bangladesh National Museum.
The Japanese ambassador in Dhaka, Masayuki Inoue, and the Economic Relations Division secretary, Mohammad Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, signed the agreed notes, said an embassy release.
Under the deal, Japan will extend grant assistance to Bangladesh to provide the National Museum with audiovisual equipment such as video-shooting system, studio-editing system, projection system, and sound-and-lighting systems.
The release said, ‘The video-shooting and studio-editing systems will make it possible to record high-quality image and quality editing. This is how the museum can preserve national and cultural heritage of Bangladesh.’ The equipment will help the museum’s audiovisual section to make documentary films on tangible and intangible heritages and on places of historical importance for long-term preservation and documentation.
The projection system will enable the museum to present screen image attractively for audiences that has not also been materialised as yet.The sound-and-lighting systems in the Shahid Zia Auditorium of the Museum will also be improved.
