KCR apprises Governor of discussions with Naidu.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao spoke to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan over phone regarding the row over utilisation of water in the Nagarjunasagar Project on recent night , explaining the circumstances leading to tension at the project site and his discussion with Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu on the issue.

Mr. Rao apprised the Governor about the two Chief Ministers' proposal to discuss the contentious issue in the Raj Bhavan recently, to which the Governor agreed, according to an official statement.

The Governor has made arrangements for the meeting to be held from 10 a.m.

In view of recent's meeting, Mr. Rao held a review meeting with Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao and other officials of the department. He directed the police to observe restraint at NSP. The Chief Minister made it clear that the Telangana government was ready to resolve the issue amicably.

The situation at NSP Right Canal site was discussed by the two Chief Ministers during their telephone conversation on Friday night.

Mr. Rao offered to sort out the issue through dialogue and Mr. Naidu responded positively by assuring his counterpart that AP would withdraw its police force from the NSP site.

Mr. Rao stressed the need to review the circumstances leading to tension and resolving the issue through dialogue.

When Mr. Rao proposed a discussion in the presence of the Governor, Mr. Naidu readily agreed to it.
