Mumbai: The Kenilworth plans to open two more hotels in Coimbatore and Hyderabad by 2010.
Currently, The Kenilworth has two hotels, one in Kolkata and the other in Goa. The new venture will require a total investment of about Rs 120 crore, said Mr Raju Bharat, Managing Director.
“We have already acquired the land in Coimbatore, and in Hyderabad we are in the process of identifying it,” he said. Each of these hotels would have a capacity of 100-120 rooms, Mr Bharat said.
His company will be collaborating with the University College of Gastronomy, Stockholm, for a Bartending School in the eastern region.
Explaining the need for such a school, Mr Bharat said the food and beverages industry was witnessing a rapid growth and there was a need to impart practical training to create a technical pool of manpower.
“The revenue from bars has seen a year-on-year growth of about 25-35 per cent.
“If bars are handled more efficiently by qualified professionals, we can expect the spend to move up even further,” he said. .
