TRL to set up alumina refractories plant

Coimbatore: Tata Refractories (TRL) has decided to put up a high alumina refractories plant in Visakhapatnam at an investment of Rs 80 crore.

It also has drawn up plans to increase its turnover more than three fold to Rs 2,000 crore in the next five years.

TRL said the company’s board took the decision to put up a new plant at Visakhapatnam keeping in view the logistic advantage of the port city. The company, which has its main works in Belpa har (Orissa), has operations in Jamshedpur, Salem, and in China.

The company said it is also looking at M&A both in India and abroad to achieve its five-year goal.
