18 mega projects launched in IT sector: Advisor
Hyderabad: Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister Sindh on Information Technology Nauman Saigal said that the present government has initiated revolutionary steps for promotion of information technology by launching 18 mega projects worth Rs 4 billions.
Under the project, Call Net Centre and F.M. Radio Channels will be established in the province besides introducing Vehicle Trade System and connecting the hospitals and police stations with facilities of information technology, he added.
The Advisor was speaking as chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of e-medicine project, which completed with an amount of Rs 140 million here at Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad Branch on Monday.
He said that introduction of e-medicine system aimed to provide facility to the people to contact with consultants and medical professors through internet and get medical advice from them without visiting hospitals.
After Civil Hospital Karachi, Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad Branch is the second hospital of the province where e-medicine system has been introduce for the welfare of the people, he said and added that the system would be introduced also in other hospitals of the province.
Besides introducing e-medicine technology in the hospitals, the Advisor informed that 500 police stations of the province are being connected with internet facility in order to early detection of criminals and their activities.
The high ups of the police department would also be linked with this system in order to keep vigil on the performance of their sub-ordinates, the Advisor said and added that the projects of Vehicle Trade System and establishment of F.M. Radio Channels will also be completed within a period of one year.
Earlier, Medical Superintendent Liaquat University Hospital Dr Wasim Ahmed in his welcome address highlighted the performance of the hospital adding that introduction of e-medicine technology will help in providing early medical treatment to the patients.
