₹3,500-Crore Tech Park Proposal in Mangaluru Awaits Cabinet Approval.
A proposal to establish Mangaluru’s largest Tech Park, with a working capital of ₹3,500 crore, is set to be placed before the Karnataka state cabinet for approval either this Thursday or in the coming week, according to Priyank Kharge, Minister for Rural Development & Panchayat Raj and IT-BT.Announcing the plan at the fifth edition of ‘Technovanza-2025’, hosted by the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) at the TMA Pai Convention Centre on Wednesday, Kharge said the proposed park will span 3.25 acres and house a 3.5 lakh sq. ft. facility.
The ambitious project is aimed at transforming Mangaluru into a major IT hub — a “second Bengaluru” — over the next five years.
Calling for bipartisan cooperation, Kharge urged local leaders to come together beyond political lines to drive the development of Mangaluru. He also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting national initiatives like Viksit Bharat and Make in India, encouraging MPs from the region to play an active role in furthering these programmes.
