Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has approved a ₹357 crore water supply scheme under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Mission for the Kalyan-Dombivli area in Thane district. The project aims to improve water supply infrastructure for the city and 27 surrounding villages.

The upgraded system will boost water storage capacity to 105 million cubic metres (mcm), benefiting a large portion of the region’s population. The project has already received administrative approval from the State Level Technical Committee and the State Level High Power Steering Committee.

Shinde, who holds key portfolios in Urban Development, Public Works, and Housing, expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for ensuring the project's approval. He highlighted that the initiative would significantly improve the quality of life in the region by providing better access to water for residents.
