"36% of Construction Completed at Bhogapuram International Airport, Says Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu"

Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu announced on August 11 that 36% of the construction work at Bhogapuram International Airport has been completed. The Minister expressed optimism that the project will meet its target completion date of June 2026, as requested by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Accompanied by State Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Kondapalli Srinivas, State Minister for Women, Child, and Tribal Welfare Gummadi Sandhyarani, and Collector B.R. Ambedkar, Naidu visited the construction site and reviewed the progress. He noted a significant improvement in the pace of work compared to the previous month.

Naidu highlighted that construction activities, including air traffic control and terminal facilities, are proceeding smoothly under close supervision. He also announced plans for new airports in Mulapeta (Srikakulam district), Dagadarthi (Nellore district), and Kuppam (Chittoor district), as well as Nagarjunasagar in Telangana. The Union government is currently conducting technical feasibility studies for these proposed sites.

Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appalanaidu and Nellimarla MLA Lokam Madhavi were also present during the visit.
