Adani Electricity Aims to Supply 60% Renewable Electricity to Mumbai by 2027

Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, has announced ambitious plans for Adani Electricity to deliver 60% renewable electricity to Mumbai by 2027. In a statement shared on his official social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), Adani highlighted his commitment to achieving a global record for renewable electricity usage in the city.

As of now, Adani pointed out that 38% of Mumbai's power supply is already sourced from green energy. The announcement coincides with the ongoing UN Climate Change Conference, COP28, hosted in the UAE, emphasizing Adani's focus on sustainable and eco-friendly initiatives.

Adani's social media post read, “As world leaders gather for COP28, Adani Electricity stands out with its green initiatives. We are on course to provide 60 per cent renewable electricity to Mumbai by 2027, setting a global record for a major city." The statement underscores Adani Electricity's dedication to significantly increasing the share of renewable energy in Mumbai's power grid over the next six years.
