"Adani Green maps out ₹40,000 crore expansion for FY27, targeting 7 GWh of BESS capacity in Gujarat."
Adani Green Energy Ltd plans to more than double its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) capacity at its Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat to over 7 GWh by FY27, supported by a capital expenditure programme estimated at ₹25,000–₹40,000 crore.
The company is on track to commission 3.5 GWh of battery storage capacity by the end of the current financial year, it said.
Adani Green said battery energy storage has emerged as a strategic priority as delays in grid augmentation continue to limit power evacuation from the Khavda site, located near the India–Pakistan border in Kutch district. The expanded storage capacity is expected to help manage intermittency and improve the reliability of renewable power supply from the region.
