Adani Group Details Transport Network for Dharavi Redevelopment.

The Adani Group, through its project vehicle Navbharat Mega Developers Pvt., has unveiled an ambitious plan to establish a comprehensive transportation network as an integral part of the sprawling Dharavi redevelopment project in Mumbai. This groundbreaking initiative aims to consolidate rail, road, and even airport transit facilities into a single, integrated hub.

A cornerstone of this proposed "multi-modal transit hub" will be dedicated airport trains, offering seamless check-in and transit facilities for passengers traveling to and from both the existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. This integration is particularly strategic, given that both airports are operated by the Adani Group, with flight operations from Navi Mumbai anticipated to commence later this year.

Navbharat Mega Developers Pvt., in which the Adani Group holds an 80 percent stake and the Maharashtra state government the remaining 20 percent, indicated that the hub would also encompass inter- and intra-city rail services, metro lines, and city bus terminals. This holistic approach is designed to significantly enhance connectivity and ease of access for the future residents and businesses of the redeveloped Dharavi, transforming it into a well-connected urban centre.

The transport network is seen as a crucial component of the Adani Group's vision for Dharavi, aiming to address the long-standing infrastructure challenges of the area and create a modern, efficient urban environment.
