Adani Group to Infuse Rs8,700 Crore in Additional Investment in Bihar

Adani Group has announced a significant additional investment of Rs. 8,700 crore in various sectors in Bihar, spanning cement manufacturing, logistics, and the agro-industry. The declaration was made by Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises, during the Bihar Business Connect-2023, a global investors summit that concluded recently.

While Adani Group has already invested Rs.. 850 crore in Bihar, this fresh infusion aims to cover diverse sectors and contribute to the state's economic development. Speaking at the summit, Pranav Adani stated, "Our group has decided to invest Rs. 8,700 crore in additional sectors in Bihar. This will create direct or indirect employment for approximately 10,000 people in the state."

During the event, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released the Bihar Logistics Policy 2023 and a coffee table book of the state industries department. The logistics policy is geared towards providing "international-standard" infrastructure facilities for industrial and social growth.

Highlighting Bihar's growing appeal as an investment destination, Pranav Adani noted that the group is currently involved in logistics, gas distribution, and agro-logistics in the state. The existing investment of Rs. 850 crore has generated direct or indirect employment for 3,000 individuals. The new investment aims to increase this figure around tenfold.

Adani Group's future investments in Bihar include Rs. 1,200 crore in the warehouse sector, creating employment for 2,000 people across districts like Purnea, Begusarai, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Kishanganj, and Araria. Additionally, Rs. 200 crore will be allocated to enhance the city gas distribution network in Gaya and Nalanda.

Pranav Adani outlined plans for producing compressed biogas and electric vehicle (EV) chargers, generating jobs for almost 1,500 people in the state. The group is also considering bringing Adani Wilmar to Bihar. In the cement manufacturing sector, the company plans to establish units in Warsaliganj and Mahawal at a cost of Rs. 2,500 crore.

Adani expressed appreciation for the developmental and social schemes implemented by the Bihar government, recognizing the state's attractiveness for investments.
