"Adani Group to Sustain Container Operations at Krishnapatnam Port"
Adani Krishnapatnam Port Limited (AKPL) has issued a statement clarifying its commitment to maintaining uninterrupted container operations at the Krishnapatnam port. The clarification comes in response to protests led by the Telugu Desam party, spearheaded by former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, against the proposed suspension of container operations.
AKPL emphasized Krishnapatnam's strategic importance, stating, "Krishnapatnam is an important port for us, and we are continuously focusing on building and strengthening its operations. The infrastructure, including berths, yard, and equipment, remains intact. The terminal is fully capable of handling any container vessel calling upon Krishnapatnam Port."
Highlighting their commitment to the development and growth of Andhra Pradesh, AKPL asserted, "As part of the PPP model, we are regularly paying revenue share to the government, and this revenue is increasing in view of the growth in cargo volume every year."
Addressing concerns, the Adani group stated, "We would like to state that Adani Krishnapatnam Port is committed to the development and growth of Andhra Pradesh and has always supported its overall growth."
In response to the ongoing dispute, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy announced plans for an all-party delegation to visit the Krishnapatnam port to assess the ground realities regarding the continuity of container operations at the port.
