Adani Group's Expansion to Bolster India's Ammunition Self-Sufficiency.

In a significant move aligning with the Ministry of Defence's (MoD) self-reliance initiative in armaments, Adani Defence and Aerospace is ramping up its manufacturing capabilities to meet the critical demand for medium and large calibre cartridges and shells from India's armed forces, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and state police.

The company's strategic push includes expanding and consolidating its production of small calibre ammunition at its state-of-the-art, fully-automated facility. This facility, spread across 500 acres, is located within the crucial Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor.

Speaking virtually to a group of visiting journalists, Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence and Aerospace, announced a substantial increase in production. "In December this year, we are doubling up the small calibre ammunition capacity from 150 million to 300 million rounds annually," Rajvanshi stated. He further emphasized the quality of their output, confirming that the ammunitions being produced are of NATO grade.

This expansion is poised to play a vital role in reducing India's reliance on foreign imports for essential ammunition, bolstering the nation's indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem.
