Adani Total Gas, Jio-bp Partner to Expand Fuel & CNG Network.
India's two most prominent billionaires, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, are once again collaborating, this time by leveraging each other's extensive fuel retail networks to sell automotive fuels. This partnership marks the second major business venture between the two industrial titans.
Under the new agreement, Jio-bp, the fuel venture spearheaded by Mukesh Ambani in collaboration with the UK's BP, will establish petrol and diesel dispensing units at the compressed natural gas (CNG) retail outlets operated by Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL). Conversely, ATGL, an equally owned city gas joint venture between the Adani Group and France's TotalEnergies, will install CNG dispensing units at Jio-bp's existing and future fuel pumps.
According to a joint statement released on Wednesday, this strategic alliance will encompass both groups' current and forthcoming retail outlets, promising a significant expansion of fuel and CNG availability across the country. The collaboration represents a notable move in India's competitive energy sector, combining the strengths of two of the nation's largest conglomerates.
