ADB provides CDGK with Rs 48b

Karachi: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) now provides the CDGK with a total of Rs 48 billion. The funds provided to the CDGK for some of the development projects in Karachi include:

* Rs 24.78 billion for city infrastructure and mega city projects (assisted by the ADB)

* Rs 35 million for transport (assisted by the ADB)

* Rs 20 million for the a comprehensive study of solid waste management, courtesy the ADB

* An estimated $200 million for a desalination plant funded by a Norwegian firm.
