Ahmedabad EV Start-Up Matter Projects Tenfold Sales Surge to 25,000 Units Next Fiscal.

Ahmedabad-based electric two-wheeler start-up Matter, which began production in July this year, is projecting a tenfold increase in vehicle sales in the next financial year. The company has sold around 1,000 units so far and aims to close the current fiscal with 2,500 units, before scaling up to 25,000 units next year, Founder and Group COO Arun Pratap Singh told businessline on Friday.

Founded in 2019 by a three-member team operating out of a single room, Matter has since expanded to nearly 1,000 employees, including 600 engineers. The company has invested ₹700 crore in its manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, which was inaugurated in April.

The plant currently has a monthly capacity of 5,000 vehicles in a single shift. Singh said the company plans to introduce a double-shift system in 2027–28, effectively doubling its production capacity. He shared the update after launching Matter’s Aera 5000 and Aera 5000+ electric bike models in Chennai.
