All rail lines in SCR to be electrified soon.

All lines in the South Central Railway (SCR) will be electrified with the latest budgetary allocations of ₹1,171 crore this year (2018-19) as was presented in the ‘Pink Book’ presented in Parliament on Tuesday. “In three years we will be able to speed up trains across the four States (TS, AP, Maharashtra and Karnataka) and also run end-to-end trains by electrifying 1,261 km,” said General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav.

A small section between Bidar and Gulburga remains to be electrified as this line was inaugurated last year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he pointed out at a press conference held in Rail Nilayam to reveal details of allocations made for the zone.

Funds allocated for works in TS and AP has been “substantial” when compared to the last three years although the former got a higher percentage of 94% whereas it was 40% for the latter. Yet, budget for AP this year at ₹3,670 crore is 8% more as it was ₹3,406 crore in 2017-18. Enhancement for TS has been 5% at ₹1,813 as against ₹1,729 crore the previous year.

It would enable SCR to complete several pending projects in both States and emphasis has also been on infrastructure and safety with GMs given flexibility to spend on building foot overbridges and increase in height of station platforms while all the unmanned level crossings in the zone would be eliminated by September, he said.

New works — Electrification of Lingampet-Jagityal (95 km, ₹80.29 cr.), Vikarabad-Parli Vaijnath (269 km, ₹262.12 cr.), Pimpalkutti-Mudkhed and Parbhani - Parli Vaijnath (246 km, ₹224.17 cr.), Gadwal-Raichur (57 km, ₹46.10 cr.), Tenali-Repalle (34 km, 25.98 cr.), Nandyal-Yerraguntla (123 km, ₹111.48 cr.), Dharmavaram-Pakala (228 km, ₹210.47 cr.), Purna-Akola (209 km, ₹211.58 cr.).

New surveys — Patancheru-Sangareddi-Jogipet-Medak 95 km; Nizamabad-Nirmal-Adilabad 125 km; Manakondur-Huzurabad and Elkaturthi 60 km. Bypass lines — Peddapalli-Kazipet, Parli-Vaijnath, Latur Road-Parli Vaijnath, Vikarabad-Wadi, Pagidipalli-Bhongir, Bhongir-Shankarpalli, Kadapa-Guntakal-Bellary, Vishnupuram-Janpahad, Nizamabad-Mudkhed - Parbhani.

For last mile and ongoing projects - ₹130 cr. for Akkampet-Medak 17 km; ₹200 cr. for Obulavaripalle-Krishnapatnam 93 km;₹ 80 cr. Mudhked-Parbhani 42 km; ₹40 cr. Guntur-Tenali 24 km. Ongoing projects — ₹125 cr. for Manoharabad-Kothapalli 32 km; ₹275 cr. for Munirabad-Mahabubnagar 66 km; ₹120 cr. for Bhadrachalam-Sattupalli 56 km; ₹301 cr. for Kazipet-Balarshah 77 km; ₹420 cr. for Nadikudi-Srikalahasti 17 km.

₹175 cr. for Kadapa-Bengaluru 234 km; ₹200 cr. for Kotipalli-Narsapur 57 km; ₹ 10 cr. for Vijayawada-Guntur via Amaravati 106 km; ₹76.52 cr. for doubling of Guntakal-Kalluru 21.54 km; ₹200 cr. for doubling Guntur-Guntakal 55 km; ₹ 200 cr. for doubling and electrification Vijayawada - Bhimavaram - Nidadavolu 30 km; ₹ 250 cr. for doubling Secunderabad - Mahabubnagar.

₹76 cr. for doubling Gooty-Dharmavaram 90 km; ₹60 cr. for third line Kazipet-Vijayawada 17.5 km; ₹ 250 cr. third line for Vijaywada-Gudur 287 km; ₹26.50 cr. for electrification of Nallapadu-Guntakal 367 km; ₹291.75 cr. for Nallapadu-Pagidipalli 50 km; ₹33.31 cr. for electrification Peddapalli-Lingampet and so on.
