Alstom Bags Major €107 Million Maintenance Order for Railway Electric Locomotives.

Alstom has secured a €107 million five-year maintenance services contract from Indian Railways for the upkeep of 250 WAG-12B electric locomotives at the Madhepura Electric Locomotive Private Limited (MELPL) Nagpur Depot.

The contract has been awarded to MELPL, Alstom’s joint venture with Indian Railways, and covers comprehensive maintenance services for the locomotives. The agreement follows the successful completion of an earlier four-year maintenance programme, reinforcing Indian Railways’ confidence in Alstom’s service capabilities.

Alstom said the renewal highlights the operational success of the Nagpur depot, which has emerged as a benchmark for collaboration and efficiency in India’s rail sector.

The company added that the extended partnership will continue to support the reliability and performance of Indian Railways’ electric locomotive fleet through advanced maintenance practices and technical expertise.
