Amenity centre to come up at Madavana.

A common amenity centre initiated by the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) will come up at Madavana junction near Panangad here. Minister for Fisheries K. Babu will lay the foundation stone of the centre on April 10. The three-storied amenity centre will come up on a 30-cent plot at an estimated cost of Rs. 7.5 crore. The first phase of the work being undertaken by the civil engineering wing of BSNL is expected to be over by March next year. An official release said that the centre will have a modern fish kiosk besides sales counters, dispensary, bank, post office, ATM, super market, cafes and rest rooms. A separate student outlet for showcasing the fish products prepared by students of the varsity will also be set up at the centre. – Special Correspondent.
