Amit Metaliks Targets Speedier ₹4,000-Crore Steel Project in Bengal.

Amit Metaliks Ltd. is targeting completion of its ₹4,000-crore greenfield integrated steel plant in West Bengal within 1,000 days, while exploring ways to accelerate the project to 800 days.

The proposed steel manufacturing facility is coming up in Raghunathpur in Purulia district and is aimed at driving industrial development and creating employment opportunities for local residents.

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari laid the foundation stone for the project, setting an 800-day timeline for its completion.

Amit Kumar Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of Amit Metaliks, said the company would assess the feasibility of compressing its planned 1,000-day schedule.

“If the Chief Minister has mentioned a timeframe of 800 days, we will review the matter with our team and examine how we can compress that thousand-day schedule into 800 days,” Singh told ANI.

The project is expected to create local employment opportunities and support economic activity in Purulia, with the company seeking to ensure that residents benefit from the industrial development in the region.

Singh emphasised the potential for the project to reduce the need for local workers to migrate elsewhere in search of employment.

“If a factory is established here in the future, why would anyone go elsewhere to work? They would work right here,” he said.

The greenfield integrated steel project marks a significant planned investment in Purulia and is expected to strengthen the district’s industrial base while generating jobs for local youth.
