"AmpIn Energy Transition Plans to Establish Renewable Energy Capacity Exceeding 600 MW"

In a groundbreaking move, AmpIn Energy Transition announced a substantial investment of ₹3,100 crore aimed at making a significant impact on India's power sector in the Eastern region. The investment encompasses the establishment of renewable energy (RE) projects exceeding 600 megawatts (MW) and the creation of an integrated manufacturing facility for solar cells and modules.

The planned investments will be strategically distributed across key states, including West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and the Northeastern states. AmpIn's commitment to accelerating the transition to renewable energy and promoting clean energy solutions in the Eastern region underscores the company's dedication to sustainable practices.

In the Eastern region, AmpIn Energy Transition already boasts an impressive solar open access portfolio of approximately 200 MWp, the largest utility Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with CESC for a 250 MWp wind-solar hybrid project, and the region's most extensive Behind the Meter industrial solar project, amounting to 10.5 MW for an industrial client.

With a diversified asset portfolio, AmpIn is not only aiding customers in achieving energy cost savings of about 25-40 percent but is also significantly contributing to carbon footprint reduction. The company serves esteemed clients across various sectors such as Cement & Steel, IT & Data Centre, Heavy Engineering, FMCG, and Utilities through its innovative projects.

The upcoming integrated solar cell and module manufacturing facility in the region, according to AmpIn Energy Transition MD & CEO Pinaki Bhattacharyya, will further bolster the push towards renewables. Additionally, AmpIn is in the process of establishing a state-of-the-art 1.3 gigawatt (GW) solar manufacturing unit in Odisha, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing India's solar energy ambitions and achieving self-sufficiency.

The strategic choice of the eastern region for the solar manufacturing unit reflects AmpIn Energy Transition's commitment to contributing to the economic growth of the region. Anticipated to create job opportunities, stimulate economic development, and position the Eastern region as a key player in the renewable energy sector, the 1.3 GW solar manufacturing facility marks a significant step towards India's sustainable energy future.
