Amplus Unveils Third Open Access Solar Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh

Amplus, a key player in the clean energy sector and a subsidiary of Gentari Sdn Bhd, has announced the commissioning of its latest solar power project, Project Lakshmi, in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh. This intra-state open-access solar power plant, with a capacity of 73.4 megawatts (MWp), represents Amplus's third venture in the state, following the successes of Project Mirza and Project Deoria.

This significant achievement propels Amplus's operational open-access capacity in Uttar Pradesh to over 200 MWp, solidifying its position as a leading provider of clean energy solutions to commercial and industrial customers in the region.

Sharad Pungalia, Managing Director & CEO of Amplus, emphasized the company's commitment to meeting the evolving green energy needs of India's commercial and industrial sector. He credited the unwavering support and guidance from the state government and local administration for the success of Project Lakshmi, while also commending the efforts of the Amplus team.

Interconnected at the 132 KV Gursarai substation, Project Lakshmi is expected to deliver significant energy cost savings to Amplus's clientele across Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the plant is projected to reduce CO2 emissions by 11,6716.1 tonnes annually, contributing to environmental sustainability efforts.

With a portfolio of over 1.6 gigawatts (GW) of distributed solar assets, Amplus serves a diverse clientele of over 350 Indian and multinational firms, including prominent names such as Yamaha, Cisco, Amazon, Walmart, and many others. The company's customer base has quadrupled from 2017 to 2023, underscoring its growing influence in the clean energy sector.

Amplus offers a range of energy solutions to commercial and industrial customers, including on-site solar projects (rooftop and ground-mounted) and off-site solar farms. The company has also diversified into wind-solar hybrid, battery storage, residential solar, and distributed green hydrogen, positioning itself as a comprehensive provider of sustainable energy solutions.
