Andhra Pradesh Launches ₹800-Crore Initiative to Rejuvenate 700 Ancient Shrines.

Andhra Pradesh Endowments Minister A. Ramnarayan Reddy recently announced that the state government has allocated more than ₹800 crore for the development and restoration of nearly 700 neglected ancient temples across the state.

Addressing a press conference at the State Secretariat, the minister highlighted the achievements of the Endowments Department over the past two years under the TDP-led government. He said the funds have been sanctioned under the ‘Sarvasreyonidhi’ scheme, aimed at preserving and revitalising temples that have long remained neglected.

“We have created history by allotting ₹813 crore under Sarvasreyonidhi to develop 692 neglected ancient temples,” Reddy said.

According to the minister, the initiative is intended to protect the state's rich religious and cultural heritage while improving infrastructure and facilities at these historic temples. The government expects the project to boost pilgrim amenities and promote heritage conservation across Andhra Pradesh.

Reddy said the temple restoration programme reflects the government's commitment to preserving ancient places of worship and ensuring their sustainable development for future generations.
