Antony flags off Kannur airport works.

The construction works of the Kannur International Airport, coming up near Mattannur, were flagged off by Defence Minister A.K. Antony at a public function on the project site on 2nd Feb 2014.

Inaugurating the works' commencement, Mr. Antony said the north Malabar region would get a major facelift with the completion of the airport. Though Kerala registered growth, the northern region was still to get its share of benefits because of lack of infrastructure.
