AP Govt to Establish Trust for Venkateswara Temple Construction: CM Naidu.
The Andhra Pradesh government will soon establish a trust to mobilize funds for the construction of Venkateswara temples across the state and in the capitals of other states, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced on Friday.
Speaking to the media in Tirupati after visiting the Tirumala temple with his family, Naidu stated that this initiative follows the earlier introduction of the Anna Danam and Prana Danam programs by the TDP government. "As the third program, we are now focusing on temple construction, and the trust will be dedicated solely to the service of the Lord," he said.
The Chief Minister emphasized that funds raised through the trust would be systematically utilized. He also assured that the government would take steps to reclaim illegally occupied land and properties belonging to the temple in Tirumala.
Reaffirming that all seven hills belong entirely to Lord Venkateswara, Naidu stated that the sacred area should not be used for commercial purposes. "Any land and properties allocated illegally for commercial activities will be taken back by the government," he asserted.
Naidu also announced that permissions granted by the previous government for commercial ventures near the hills—including 35.32 acres allotted to Mumtaz, Emaar, and Devlok hotels—were being revoked to preserve the sanctity of the temple surroundings.
He further mentioned that a purification process was currently underway in continuation of the protests held over the past five years to protect the spiritual significance of Tirumala.
