"Genpact Unveils Innovation Centre in Gurugram to Propel AI-First Strategy"

Genpact announced on Tuesday the inauguration of an artificial intelligence (AI) innovation centre in Gurugram, underscoring the company's AI-first strategy. Following its first such centre in London last year, Genpact plans to open several more across the globe in the coming months.

"The centre will serve as a launch pad for innovation, providing talent with a space to learn, experiment, and build comprehensive, AI-focused growth solutions for Genpact's worldwide clients," the company said in a statement. This facility is intended to support Genpact and its clients in exploring new approaches to business transformation, encouraging the development of novel ideas, capabilities, and solutions through AI.

"The work we do today will transform how work gets done tomorrow," said Piyush Mehta, Chief Human Resources Officer and Country Manager for India at Genpact. He highlighted the company's emphasis on fostering a culture of learning and experimentation, utilizing a robust partner ecosystem, and enabling employees to become co-creators alongside AI. Mehta believes that data, technology, AI, and talent are key components to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients. "With this AI innovation centre, we're not just embracing the future, we're shaping it together," he added.

The Indian government is playing a pivotal role in promoting AI, with a $1.2 billion programme designed to boost capacity building and AI literacy, establish research centres, and create legal frameworks for responsible technology use. This aligns with the larger vision of making India an AI-first nation, incorporating AI into the core of its digital infrastructure.

Debjani Ghosh, President of Nasscom, emphasized that AI is redefining business boundaries by enhancing productivity, transforming client interactions, and expanding capabilities. She stated, "India is at the forefront of this transformation, rapidly evolving into an AI-first nation." Ghosh noted that the inauguration of Genpact's AI innovation centre represents a significant step toward this ambitious vision, positioning India to nurture world-class talent and research capabilities. This initiative not only underscores the commitment of India's technology industry to becoming a global leader in AI but also demonstrates its potential to drive innovation and contribute to the global AI ecosystem.
