AP sanctions Rs 170-mn for development projects

Anantapur: The State government has sanctioned Rs. 17 crore to Anantapur Municipal Corporation (AMC) for various development works.

The funds were sanctioned as per Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s assurance to a delegation of the ruling party leaders, who called on the former a few months back.

Collector V. Anil Kumar stated here that Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration Sunil Sharma had given administrative sanction for laying of cement-concrete roads and construction of drains with an estimated cost of Rs. 10 crore and completion of the road-over-bridge across railway tracks in Ramachandra Nagar with Rs. 7 crore.

The ROB at Ramachandra Nagar has been pending incomplete due to lack of funds for more than two years now. Anantapur MP A. Venkatarami Reddy, legislator B. Narayana Reddy, Mayor R. Parasuram and others met the Chief Minister a few months back seeking sanction of funds for completion of ROB and other works.
