ASG Tech opens development centre in Chennai.

ASG Technologies Group of the US, a provider of software solutions, has opened a software development centre in Chennai, its first in the Asia Pacific region.

At the formal launch of the 29,000 sq ft facility that will provide over 300 jobs at peak capacity, Charles Sansbury, CEO, ASG Technologies, said the Chennai facility is the company’s third centre after those in New York and Barcelona and its largest. The company employs over 1,000 persons totally.

As of now, it employs about 100 in Chennai.

ASG Technologies provides products enabling businesses to capturing and storing content, data intelligence, allowing personnel to access information through browsers and product suite for management and operation of infrastructure. It focusses on financial sector, retail and high end manufacturing. Healthcare is a strong segment elsewhere in Asian markets, he said.

The US company works with Wipro as a local partner to source talent and accelerate hiring, he said. A mix of Wipro and ASG Technologies’ employees will be located in the Chennai engineering centre.
