Ashok Leyland Secures ₹669-Crore Order for 1,937 Buses from Tamil Nadu State Transport.

Ashok Leyland has secured a significant order worth ₹669 crore to supply 1,937 buses to the Tamil Nadu State Transport Undertakings. The order was awarded following a regular tender process, the company said in a statement.

As part of the contract, the company will deliver a mix of BS VI diesel passenger bus chassis as well as fully built low floor and semi low floor buses.

According to the company, 1,701 BS VI diesel chassis and low floor fully built buses are scheduled to be delivered between October 2025 and March 2026. The remaining 236 semi low floor BS VI fully built buses will be supplied between September 2026 and January 2027.

This order further strengthens Ashok Leyland's long-standing partnership with state transport undertakings and reinforces its leadership in the commercial vehicle segment.
