Ashok Leyland secures 715-vehicle order from VRL Logistics in expanded partnership.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group’s flagship and one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, recently announced that it has secured an order for 715 vehicles from VRL Logistics, a major player in the country’s logistics sector.

The order comprises AVTR 3120 haulage trucks, BOSS 1615 trucks, and Oyster staff buses. The deal marks a significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two companies and further strengthens Ashok Leyland’s position as a trusted mobility solutions provider in the commercial vehicle segment.

Deliveries under the order are already underway, with 300 vehicles handed over so far. The remaining 415 units are scheduled for delivery during the current year.

VRL Logistics Managing Director Dr. Anand Sankeshwar said the company has strong confidence in Ashok Leyland’s product quality, reliability, and performance. He noted that the manufacturer’s after-sales support and expanding service network provide a key operational advantage. “The fresh order of 715 vehicles marks a strategic deepening of our partnership to drive higher logistics efficiency,” he said.

He added that the collaboration, backed by Ashok Leyland’s focus on innovation and VRL’s transport strategy, is expected to support sustained operational success.

Ashok Leyland’s National Sales Head – MHCV, Madhavi Deshmukh, said the order reflects the trust VRL Logistics places in the company’s technology and performance. She added that the two companies have worked closely over the years in developing products tailored to the evolving needs of the logistics sector.

She further stated that Ashok Leyland remains focused on building advanced, safe, and efficient mobility solutions to meet changing customer requirements.

The vehicles are equipped with advanced technologies designed to improve operational performance and reliability. These features are expected to reduce maintenance downtime and unplanned stoppages, while enhancing fleet efficiency, uptime, and overall productivity for VRL Logistics.

The companies said the transaction underscores a decades-long partnership between Ashok Leyland and VRL Logistics, combining the strengths of a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer and one of India’s largest surface transportation firms.
