Asian Paints to Build ₹2,000 Crore, 4 Lakh KL Manufacturing Plant in Indore.

Asian Paints, India's leading paint manufacturer, is set to invest between ₹1,500 and ₹2,000 crore to build a new greenfield manufacturing plant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The move comes as the company faces increasing competition from new entrants in the market.

This will be the company's ninth plant, adding a substantial 4 lakh kilo litres per annum of water-based paint capacity. This expansion will bring Asian Paints' total annual capacity to 26 lakh kl, solidifying its position in a market with heightened competitive intensity. The sector has seen new players like Grasim Industries, JSW Paints, JK Cements, and Pidilite giving the market leader a tough challenge.

According to a statement to businessline by Amit Syngle, Managing Director and CEO of Asian Paints, the company has already acquired the necessary land and is in the process of securing approvals for the new facility.
