Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Meets Jeet Adani to Fast-Track ₹50,000 Cr Investment Plans.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Jeet Adani, Director of the Adani Group, on Sunday to accelerate the rollout of the conglomerate’s ₹50,000 crore investment commitment in the state. The high-level meeting was held at Lok Sewa Bhawan and comes on the heels of the recently concluded Advantage Assam 2.0 investment summit.
“During #AdvantageAssam2, the Adani Group made a ₹50,000 crore investment commitment. Today, along with my senior officers, we had an in-depth meeting with Mr. Jeet Adani and his team to operationalise this commitment,” Sarma wrote on social media platform X after the meeting.
He added that the MoUs signed with the Adani Group—covering projects such as the development of an aero-city, hotels, a cement plant, and other key infrastructure—are expected to take off soon. “Ours is a government which works 24/7 for the people of the state, and I am grateful that the team joined us on a Sunday for this important meeting,” he noted.
An official statement said the discussions also included investments related to the construction of a thermal power project, as well as strategies for leveraging the Jogighopa Multimodal Logistics Park in western Assam. The park is seen as a major opportunity to boost economic activity in the region, with the Adani Group exploring potential pathways to develop businesses around the logistics hub.
