Avaada Group Signs ₹36,000 Cr MoU with Gujarat Govt to Develop 5 GW Solar, 1 GW Wind, and 5 GWh BESS Projects.

Avaada Group, a diversified energy conglomerate, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to invest ₹36,000 crore in large-scale renewable energy projects across the state.

As part of the agreement, Avaada will develop 5 GW of solar power, 1 GW of wind power, and 5 GWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity across the districts of Kutch, Banaskantha, and Surendranagar. The projects are scheduled to commence operations between 2027 and 2030, according to an official statement.

The integrated renewable portfolio aims to enhance grid reliability by enabling the storage and dispatch of clean energy beyond solar hours. Once operational, the projects are expected to generate over 1,000 direct and 2,000 indirect jobs in Gujarat.

Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, said, “Our solar power journey began in Gujarat with India’s first large-scale, ground-mounted 15 MWp solar plant. With this MoU, we are proud to continue supporting the state’s vision for sustainable growth.”

In addition to supporting Gujarat’s clean energy transition, the initiative is projected to reduce over 12 million tons of CO₂ emissions and conserve around 166 million litres of water annually through robotic cleaning technology.

The investment underscores Gujarat’s growing role as a hub for renewable energy and reflects India’s broader push toward achieving its clean energy targets.
