AZAD Engineering Launches Dedicated Lean Manufacturing Facility.

Azad Engineering, a prominent player in the precision engineering sector, today unveiled its state-of-the-art lean manufacturing facility at its Centre of Excellence & Innovation Centre in Tunikibollaram, Hyderabad. This dedicated facility is specifically designed to fulfill capacity commitments to GE Vernova's Steam Power Services business unit, marking a significant step in their long-standing partnership.

The expansive 7,600 sq. mts. facility was inaugurated by esteemed guests from GE Vernova, including Mr. Rodolfo Torres (Lean Leader), Mr. Ankur Chandak (Sourcing Leader), Mr. Martin Schaefer (Global Commodity Leader), Mr. Akhona Qabaka (Supplier Quality Leader), and Ms. Carly Lorence (Global Planning Lean Leader), alongside Mr. Rakesh Chopdar, Chairman and CEO of Azad Engineering.

This launch represents a remarkable evolution for Azad Engineering, which began with a modest setup in 2013 and has now transformed into a world-class manufacturing hub. The journey involved years of stringent qualification processes, continuous technological advancements, and unwavering dedication to excellence. Azad's team successfully navigated complex engineering challenges, invested in specialized equipment and skill development, and demonstrated exceptional perseverance through demanding qualification trials to meet the exacting quality standards and intricate manufacturing techniques required for critical power generation components.

The new lean manufacturing facility signifies a substantial investment in expanding Azad Engineering's production capabilities, aligning with its strategic focus on forging long-term partnerships with global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) across diverse sectors such as aerospace, defense, energy, and oil & gas. This facility reinforces Azad Engineering's position as a key player in the precision manufacturing landscape. The groundbreaking for this significant expansion took place on April 24th, 2024.

Key features of the facility include its current employment of over 180 skilled professionals, with plans to add several hundred more in the near future. It is equipped with cutting-edge technology for producing high-precision components and operates on lean manufacturing principles aimed at maximizing productivity. Its integration with Azad's Centre for Excellence and Innovation further strengthens India's standing in global manufacturing.

With over 180 direct skilled professionals currently employed and plans to add several hundred more, we are creating a robust ecosystem of precision engineering excellence to produce approximately 1,00,000 blades per annum from this factory. The rigorous qualification processes we've undergone, achieving precision tolerances measured in microns, reflect Azad's dedication to meeting the exacting standards of global industry leaders while continuously pushing the boundaries of engineering excellence."
