Bengal Business Conclave: JSW Energy Plans ₹24,000 Cr Additional Investment; RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group Commits ₹15,800 Cr Capex.

Diversified JSW Group’s power arm, JSW Energy, recently announced plans to double the capacity of its thermal power project in West Bengal with an additional investment of around ₹24,000 crore, while the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group committed a capital expenditure of about ₹15,800 crore across the energy, healthcare and education sectors in the State.

The announcements were made at the Business & Industry Conclave 2025 in Kolkata, which saw several major investment commitments for West Bengal.

Addressing the conclave, ITC Ltd Chairman Sanjiv Puri said ITC Hotels plans to expand its presence in the State with three new properties, in addition to five hotels that are already in the pipeline.

ITC Hotels is in the process of acquiring land for the new projects in Darjeeling, Kurseong and the Sundarbans, as it looks to tap into West Bengal’s rapidly growing tourism potential.
