"BHEL secures a major contract for a coal gasification plant at Odisha's coal-to-ammonium nitrate facility."

State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) recently said it has secured an order from Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL) for setting up coal gasification and raw syngas cleaning facilities for a coal-to-ammonium nitrate project at Jharsuguda in Odisha.

BCGCL is a joint venture between BHEL and Coal India Limited (CIL).

According to BHEL, the order includes engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and performance guarantee for the coal gasification and raw syngas cleaning facilities. These units will serve as the core process facilities of the integrated chemical complex planned under the project.
