Bihar Emerges as a Growing Hub for Food Processing Investments.
Bihar hosted a Food Processing Investors Meet in Patna, where Union Minister Chirag Paswan emphasized the state's growing potential in the food processing sector. He highlighted the role of central-state collaboration in fostering industrial growth and pointed to Bihar's evolving infrastructure as a key enabler for investments.
Experts agree that Bihar’s food processing sector offers significant investment opportunities, fueled by the state’s rich agro-resources. In 2023, Bihar signed MoUs worth ₹50,500 crore with 278 companies, with food processing being a major focus. Industry Minister Nitish Mishra anticipates even higher participation at the upcoming Bihar Business Connect event, scheduled for December 19-20.
Industry Secretary Bandana Preyashi underscored Bihar's success in translating MoUs into actual progress, noting that over 75% of commitments from the 2023 Bihar Business Connect event have been realized.
Top food processing companies are now setting up operations in Bihar, driven by the state's favorable policies. The previous investors' meet saw MoUs worth ₹10,000 crore signed with 15 key food processing companies, signaling the growing confidence in Bihar’s industrial landscape.
