Borosil to Invest in Gujarat Plant, Scale Up Furnace Capacity at Jaipur Unit.

Borosil Ltd recently said its board has approved the setting up of a new glassware manufacturing facility in Bharuch, Gujarat, along with plans to expand borosilicate glass furnace capacity at its Jaipur plant in Rajasthan, as the company looks to meet rising demand for its products.

The company will invest ₹42 crore to establish the new facility in Bharuch, with commercial production expected to begin by December 2026, subject to necessary approvals. The plant will manufacture a range of glassware products, including storage jars, glass bottles and glass jugs, and will be funded through internal accruals.

Borosil said it has been sourcing several of these glassware products from the Bharuch plant of Borosil Scientific Ltd, and demand across these product categories has remained strong and continues to grow.

To cater to the increasing market demand, the new unit will feature dedicated mass-production lines, aimed at boosting output and strengthening the company’s supply capabilities. Meanwhile, the planned furnace expansion at its Jaipur facility will enhance production of borosilicate glass, a key material used in several of the company’s product lines.
