BPCL and Tata Power Sign ₹250 Crore MoU for Power Infrastructure at Mumbai Refinery
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Tata Power have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop power infrastructure worth approximately ₹250 crore at BPCL’s Mumbai Refinery in Maharashtra.
The agreement covers development of 110 kV power connectivity and associated transmission infrastructure to meet the 90 MW electricity requirement of BPCL’s Petro Resid Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (PRFCCU) project.
Tata Power will undertake design and development of the facilities, with completion targeted within 24 months, subject to regulatory approvals and project milestones.
The infrastructure will support BPCL’s ₹14,203 crore PRFCCU project, featuring a processing capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum.
The collaboration will also strengthen Tata Power’s transmission network in the Trombay industrial area, supporting future electricity demand.
The investment represents a significant infrastructure milestone, enhancing refinery operations, industrial power reliability and Mumbai’s long-term energy security while supporting domestic petrochemical manufacturing and industrial growth
