"Centre Approves 2,135 Water Body Rejuvenation Projects Since 2021"

"A total of 2,135 water body rejuvenation projects, valued at Rs 3,802 crore, have been greenlit by the Centre under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 since 2021, according to the Ministry of Urban Affairs. The initiative aims to address the water crisis by supporting state governments' water management efforts. Minister of State Kaushal Kishore revealed that the projects include aquifer management plans to maintain positive groundwater balance. AMRUT 2.0, launched in October 2021, focuses on universal water supply coverage and sewerage/septage management in 500 cities across the nation."
