Centre gives nod to three civic projects in West Bengal.

The central sanctioning and monitoring committee (CSMC) of the Union ministry of urban development approved two important city projects and another project in Howrah worth Rs. 267 crore.

The city-based projects are the renewal project of Tallah tank, for which Rs. 67.81 crore has been approved, and the dhapa project at New Town, for which Rs. 153 crore has been approved. Both these projects will be implemented by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. The other project is the water supply scheme worth Rs. 46 crore in Uluberia.

Recently, the CSMC approved Rs. 313.27 crore to build the four-lane Garden Reach to Diamond Harbour Road flyover project to be executed by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). The state urban development department received the administrative approval and sanction of Rs. 274.76 crore for the sewerage scheme of Halisahar under the ministry of environment and forests.
