Centre Releases ₹4,285 Crore for Development of Amaravati as Andhra Pradesh’s New Capital.
The Central Government has released ₹4,285 crore for the construction of Amaravati, the planned Greenfield capital of Andhra Pradesh. The funds include ₹3,535 crore as advance from loans sanctioned by the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, and ₹750 crore as the Centre’s contribution, according to official sources.
The release of funds follows a request from the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), with construction activities set to begin shortly.
State Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, P. Narayana, said the estimated cost of the Amaravati project stands at ₹54,721 crore, and the government aims to complete it by 2028.
