"Chemco and Bhageria Industries Announce $16.65 Million Expansion in Bahrain"

Packaging material manufacturers Chemco and Bhageria Industries are set to invest $16.65 million in Bahrain, expanding their operations in the region. The announcement was made by H.E. Noor Bint Ali Alkhulaif, Bahrain’s Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), during a visit to Bengaluru aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and attracting foreign direct investment.

In addition to Chemco and Bhageria’s contributions, an undisclosed ICT firm is also part of the investment package. The Minister emphasized the strategic importance of Bahrain, saying, “This cumulative investment reflects the strength and competitiveness of Bahrain’s value proposition and its growing reputation as a regional hub for leading manufacturing and technology firms.”

India’s foreign direct investment (FDI) stock in Bahrain has surged by 36.6% from 2019 to 2023, with an annual increase of approximately $102 million. By 2023, India's total FDI in Bahrain reached $1.52 billion.

Alongside this announcement, Bahrain is set to receive a $50 million investment in its healthcare sector. Additionally, Ali Al Mudaifa, Chief of Business Development at Bahrain EDB, hinted at an upcoming major investment from a Chennai-based semiconductor manufacturing firm, with details to be revealed in the coming days.
