Larsen and Toubro Bags EPC Contract for Solar Plant in Dubai

Larsen & Toubro Ltd's Power Transmission & Distribution business has successfully clinched an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a substantial 1800MW ac Solar Photovoltaic Plant in Dubai, UAE. The project is an integral part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, with the goal of annually reducing approximately 2.4 million tonnes of carbon emissions.

Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC, has inked a Power Purchase Agreement with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) for the project. Larsen & Toubro's responsibilities encompass establishing the photovoltaic plant, evacuation arrangements, Gas Insulated Substations, and distribution networks, spread across three operational phases. The solar park aligns with Dubai's Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and DEWA's initiative for achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
