"Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has successfully commenced trial runs extending to Vadapalani."
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) recently achieved a key milestone in its Phase II Corridor-4 (C4) project with the successful trial run of a train on the 5.5-km stretch from Porur Junction to Vadapalani on the down line.
The development is part of CMRL’s 118.9-km Phase II expansion, which comprises three corridors—Corridor 3 from Madhavaram to SIPCOT, Corridor 4 from Poonamallee to Light House, and Corridor 5 from Madhavaram to Sholinganallur.
The trial run marks the completion of the viaduct, including track laying and electrification, on the down line between Porur Junction and Kodambakkam Power House. It also represents the first train operation on this newly completed stretch, CMRL said.
